When you first get started in internet marketing, you are bombarded with sales pitches for everything you need to get started right. So you buy everything you are told to buy, and then realize you have no idea how to use any of it.

So now you buy the information that is supposed to tell you how to put it all together, and what will make all your tools work.

But in reality, you need to do the very opposite. You must start with a plan, and build from there.

Read all you can online about the best way to set up you internet business, then create a step by step plan to implement your ideas.

When you begin to purchase resources, make sure that every resource you buy fits into one of the elements of the plan you devised. If it does not fit in, do not buy it. No matter how wonderful is the product, no matter what it promises to do, if it does not fit into your plan, do not buy it.

You must develop a step by step plan to create long term success online. This plan should start with the basics, like a niche, a web site, and a traffic source. Next, it should incorporate techniques like list building and web site conversion tactics. Finally, your internet marketing plan should incorporate backend products, cross niche products, and up sells.

Making money at home on the internet is actually one of the easiest things you can try to do. It is easier than finding a new job in most fields and much easier than opening your own business. There are so many possibilities that it is amazing that more people are not staying at home and living on their internet income.

Most internet entrepreneurs fail because the give up or the skip from one program to another without ever giving any of them time to develop and work. There is no success in giving up and you must stick with it even if it takes months to get a good income coming it. Once it starts to come in it will get easier and the money will get better.

You would never believe I have a lot of faith in writing articles with a title like that, would you?

Well, the truth is, I really do.

I have tried just about everything for traffic, and writing and publishing articles has been the most consistent form of quality traffic.

I have tried all the junk traffic - just about all the purchased traffic you can buy - and I have used Adwords and I have abused the JV giveaways - and articles are my best form of traffic

Don’t get me wrong. I get subscribers from the other traffic. But the article readers buy.

Why? Because there is a connection, a relationship that occurs, that begins with the reading of the article. Only people who connect with my style will click through.

What happens is that when a web surfer reads your article, some of them like your style, relate to you. And some of them do not. So the only people who click your links, who visit your site, are serious. They like you. They like your style. They connect with you. And only those who connect with you will buy.

One thing that is incredibly important is for the connection that you create in the article to be continued on the squeeze page, to be continued in the emails, and to be continued on your sales page. And the only way for you to keep that unique connection alive is to write it all yourself. You are cheating yourself if you are writing your own articles and your own emails but someone else is writing your squeeze page and your sales copy. It will be more than worth the effort to learn to write sales copy yourself. But that is a different topic all together.
